Movin' On Up!

KEN JONES JR. FINE ART BRINGS PRICE-LESS ART TO DOWNTOWN EASTON


EASTON, PENNSYLVANIA, JUNE 16, 2008
– Ken Jones Jr. Fine Art, an internationally recognized art-consulting firm with projects based primarily in New York City, announces the opening of its first permanent retail gallery space at 526 Northampton Street in Easton, Pennsylvania on July 3, 2008. The gallery's inaugural group exhibition, "Movin' On Up!" opens with a cocktail reception on Saturday, July 12, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and runs through August 31st, 2008. The exhibition showcases a range of work in a variety of mediums by established, mid-career, and emerging contemporary artists from the United States and abroad.

With a mission centered on an enthusiasm for and accessibility to the visual arts, Ken Jones Jr. Fine Art provides a fun and engaging art viewing space on Northampton Street for the entire community. Presented in a welcoming atmosphere and at a broad range of prices, contemporary art and objects on display at the gallery will range from FREE to upwards of $10,000.00.

"I wanted to create a space that would be a distinguished and viable showplace for thoughtfully curated fine art, yet avoid pretension and remain accessible to everyone," explains Jones who, in order to achieve this, has worked with artists to develop a "Priceless" print series that will be available for FREE exclusively at the Easton gallery. "It is price-less after all!" laughs Jones.

Ken began his one of a kind career in art, design, and commerce while developing and managing the corporate art collection for Polo Ralph Lauren. Since establishing his art advising and consultation firm in 2004, Mr. Jones has worked with a list of highly distinguished private and corporate collections, interior design firms, celebrities and heads of state. Ken, originally from Longview, Texas, is a graduate from the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, and was named the Smithsonian Presidential Scholar while pursuing graduate coursework at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York, NY.

"Movin' On Up!" the inaugural group exhibition at Ken Jones Jr. Fine Art, will feature work by Wendy Edwards, Charo Garaigorta, Jacqueline Gourevitch, Susan Hamburger, Stanford Kay, Erika Koop, Jerry Mischak, Justin Richel, Julia Schwadron, Bruce Stiglich, Diane Stiglich, Lynn Talbot, and Dan Walker. The exhibition will explore the themes of growth, expansion, and change while simultaneously introducing artists whose work will feature heavily in future gallery exhibition programming.
