Today the first poppies bloomed, and they are stunning! It's taken me three years of patience waiting for the plant to grow and mature to the point where it would flower, and it was well worth the wait. The flowers are 6-7 inches across and there are about 18 of them waiting in the wings to blossom. It's going to be quite the show.
We brunched, I weeded the garden, and did some office work. Karen Feder is out visiting for the weekend, and she and Ron are in his studio recording some test tracks for the TOP SECRET musical. We're all going to Becky's Drive-In this evening to watch a double feature. Life is good.

Did you paint the chairs to match the poppies? Or plant the poppies to match the chairs? Love that photo!
HAHAHA! It's crazy, right?! I actually planted the poppies three years ago and quickly forgot the color of the flowers. Then, about two years ago painted the metal chairs bright orange. The chairs have now faded to a warm salmon which magically matched the poppies once they popped! Gotta love life!
