There's an operatic ghost in the machine

I was taking a break upstairs in the studio and turned on the radio which is always tunned to the local classical station.  I coincidentally caught the last two minutes of a satirical retelling of Wagner's epic 20 hour opera, "The Ring Cycle" as told by comedian Mrs. Anna Russell. The last time I heard this was back in high school at Interlochen in Mr. Hintze's literature class, and I've talked about this piece of music so many times since then, not two days ago, in fact, but never, ever remember the name of the artist.
