We're about to sit down to a nice late Sunday afternoon veggie burger lunch, after a great couple of days enjoying a visit from our good friend and artist, Dan Walker. He drove back with Ron from the city on Friday, and he just took the bus back a few hours ago. Great times were had by all, except perhaps the rouge vif d'etampes pumpkin from last year's garden that finally found it's way into the oven. It had been perched a top a chest in the entry greeting visitors for almost six months, but now it's time for pies or, as was the case Friday night, filling for tamales. We had a duet of tamales - one pumpkin, the other wild mushroom - served with an ancho chili mole sauce and accompanied with rice, black beans, and avocado. It was very very yummy!
After lunch, I'm heading to the basement to sow the "6 weeks prior" batch of seeds.
