Second Sight Fabric Store

Inez and I discovered an incredible place to get fabric called Second Sight over the weekend. Tom's Aunt Pat told me about it when we were at the Philly Flower Show last month. It's run by the Lehigh Valley Blind Center and everything is donated and sold to benefit their programs. We were in heaven! I've never seen such great fabric in one place and all in my price range; 50 cents here, a buck there. I even got a 30 yard bolt of gorgeous jacquard fabric for 15 dollars that I'm going to use to make an awning for our side porch. It'll be decadent, but with that price, I can afford to be! Inez found a 55 yard roll of beautiful black linen that she's going to reupholster her sofa with for 30 bucks (and I'll get whatever's left over!!!)

Anyway, after about two hours shopping at the place, we finally headed back to the house loaded with goodies and charged with creative energy. Our plan was to go up to the 3rd Floor and start to sew. Ha! The third floor studio was so disorganized that what started out as an attempt to locate the sewing machine pedal turned into a six hour long reorganizing extravaganza! Inez and I, when we get going... well, it's really a sight to behold: a Virgo and a Pisces sorting and labeling, and stacking! We finished at around midnight, and absolutely NO sewing was done. Granted, we're ready from here on out.

What a find and to support a good cause it such a wonderful thing. You know I am all about helping blind services. My mother-in-law would love that place she loves to sew and is fabulous at it. Have fun creating!
