Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse

We were asked to curate and install a collection of artwork for the Grand Staircase at this year's Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in NYC. Here are a few shots taken right after we finished (you can still see the painters blue tape on the wall). ;)

The Opening of "A New World"

The new store opened to huge success - so much so that we seem to have forgotten to take many pictures of the event! Oh well - we were in the moment and having fun. Here are two that were captured....

New Website is coming....

A new Mercantile Home website is in the works...and a new store...and a new show! :)

Mercantile is Growing!

Yesterday was the last day of business at our original Mercantile space at 526 Northampton Street.

Starting this morning, we begin the exciting move into our new home at 140 Northampton Street.

2 years, 11 exhibitions, 300+ bottles of champagne, and the support of countless new friends have made this move possible.

Up, up and away!!

It's been a lovely rainy day, and Teddy has been 'cat napping' atop our bedroom pillows since noon.

Karen's BDAY Flowers

Summer break is upon us, and before Ron and I leave for the cooler weather that awaits us up in Maine, we're going to an Iron Pigs baseball game to celebrate our friend Karen's 65th Birthday. Here's a pic of the dozen or so table arrangements I made for the event, all boxed up and ready to go, and all grown in our Easton backyard garden.

Recently Discovered Footage of Beauregard Sleeping

Our friend George Lyter recently rediscovered this little feline tidbit taken about two years ago while shooting the "Boyfriend" music video for Ron. Makes me want to take a nap!

The opening of "PHYLLIS"

Ron and I were hired by Easton's very own personality and entrepreneur, Phyllis O'Donnell to rebrand, hand-select, and create a new store for her vintage jewelry, clothing, and accessories business. The culmination of several months of work and collaboration resulted in Saturday's opening of "PHYLLIS". Here's a little peek inside one of Easton's coolest new shops. Next time you're in town, stop by and see what you can find at Phyllis!

Installing The 10,000 Snowflake Project

The Easton community is mounting a community-wide campaign to cut 10,000 paper snowflakes and paint the town white! The goal is to fill all the windows of Northampton and Third Streets (both occupied and vacant) with these symbols of community spirit by January 22nd. Hand cut snowflakes of all shapes and sizes will showcase our wonderful businesses AND highlight the available properties awaiting potential businesses. The best part about the program is that the entire community is getting involved and working together to help build our downtown.

We've actually already surged past our goal and are at 18,000 snowflakes and still counting. Here are a few pics of some vacant property windows I helped install today. I can't wait to see the entire downtown covered in snowflakes!

Vogue Knitting in the New Year

Happy New Year! Wow! I can't believe how fast November and December flew by. Life has been great but super busy lately, and I'm afraid I've fallen behind with the blog. I have lots to post, and hope to get everything caught up in the next few days (pics from Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, the new exhibit...).

In the meantime, I wanted to post a few pics (click to see them larger) of one of our note cards of a hand-drawn ball of yarn (by the masterful Ron Morris, of course) that's featured in the Winter 2010 Vogue Knitting magazine among several "note cards for knitters". It's beyond cool, and we're so excited!!
